Array A’s: Kennedy bounced back from a seven-run beating at the hands of the host Orioles to put together his strongest start of the season Friday night against the visiting Twins, holding Minnesota to a run on six hits over eight innings while throwing a season-high 110 pitches. Looking at the expected starters for a Wakefield start you see that those batters have a cumulative batting average of .282. There is only one way for him to be full time again and that is by starting to hit.Historical Pitching line PitcherGSWLShoIPHERHRBBKERAWHIPKennedy8120496225414274.591.55Wakefield23940167 2/31517524621124.031.27Kennedy’s last start vs the Sox was in 2005 (9/16). He has averaged 5.78 innings in those games with his last start in Oakland being 8/14/2003.Obviously, even with an extensive track record his success there is too long ago to amount to much.

A Prestigious Research CentreofIslamic studies&Oriental learning http://shibliacademy.orgOn November 21, 2004, Darul Musannefin Shibli Academy, Azamgarh, completed 90 years of its life. Widely acknowledged by scholars of our Asian neighbours, this Academy of letters specializes in research on Islamic Learning, medieval Indian history and oriental studies. Here we give a reprint of an article published by the Press Information Bureau, Government of India.“Moulded in the scholarly tradition of India’s ancient centre of learning, the Darul Musannefeen Shibli Academy in the old Azamgarh town of Uttar Pradesh has taken its place alongside some known modern research institutions. A well-equipped library and a well organised Publication Department, putting out original works or the fruits of modern research in oriental philosophy, history and culture, make it the envy of many an institution in the field.”EARLY HISTORYThe Darul Musannefin Shibli Academy was established on November21, 1914, three days after the death of its founder Maulana Shibli Nomani. With this end in view he made a two pronged attack on intellectual decadence. In the sphere of education, Shibli helped to found the NadwatuI Ulama, at Lucknow, a model institution for teaching of Arabic and Islamic studies, while in the field of research, he conceived of the plan of Darul Musannefin. An outline of the organisation was first published by Maulana Shibli in the Al-Hilal, the well-known weekly of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was so impressed by the plan that when Maulana Syed Suleman Nadvi later after his mentors death offered the fellowship of Darul Mussanefin to Maulana Azad, he wrote back to him that he would deem it an honour to serve the Academy even in the capacity of a coolie. He had, however, created a small group of co-workers and pupils who could carry the work further and had also compiled a few standard works to serve as pilot project.DEPARTMENTSIt was left to his pupils and co-workers, Maulana Hamiduddin Farahi, Maulana Syed Sulaiman Nadwi and Maulana Masood Ali to elaborate his ideas into actual practice. Besides the Seerat-un-Nabi the collection of the biographical sketches of the companions of the Holy Prophet, entitled the Seyar-us-Sahaba, is also a stupendous work. The AI-Farooq ( the Life of Caliph Omar) by Maulana Shibli, has won recognition from the scholars of Iran and Afghanistan, where its translation was undertaken, as a remarkable book still unsurpassed for its scholarly treatment The English translation of this book was attempted by Maulana ZafarAli Khan.In the literary field, Maulana Shibli’s Sher-ul-Ajam was highly spoken of by Prof. It attracted the elite of intellectual life and among its contributors have been writers, authors, poets theologians and administrators of proven abilitAUTHORS AND FELLOWSDarul Musannifeen’s founder, Allama Shibli Nomani, its first president Maulana Hamiduddin Farahi and its first administrator Maulana Sayyid Sulaiman Nadwi, enjoy international fame as scholars. Personalities like Nawab Imadul Mulk Mir Sayyid Hasan Bilgrami, Justice Karamat Husain, Tarjumanul Qur’an Maulana Hamiduddin Farahi, Nawab Sadar Yar Jung, Maulana Habibur Rahman Khan Sherwani, Dr. Sayed Mahmood (former Union minister), Maulana Abdul Majid Daryabadi and Maulana Sayyid Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi have presided over its meetings. Scholars and intellectuals like Saiyid Hamid, former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University and Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard (Delhi), Maulana Sayed Muhammad Rabey Nadwi, rector of Nadwatul Ulama (Lucknow) and Maulana Abu Mahfoozul Karim Ma’soomi, former principal of Madrasa Aalia, Kolkata, have earlier been presidents of Darul Musannifeen’s managing committees.LIBRARYThe life throb of the Academy is undeniably its well equipped library. The library offers to research workers and scholars a very wide range of literature on a large variety of subjects.PATRONSOn account of the cosmopolitan and constructive outlook, the Academy, from its very inception, earned encouragement from leaders of all shades of thought Among them are Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sir Tel Bahadur Sapru, Acharya Narendra Dev, Shri Jaya Prakash Narain , Pandit Motilal Nehru, Dr. Zakir Husain, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Syedana Dr. Tahir Saifuddin, Maulana Shaukat Ali, Dr.M. After the death of Maulana Masood Ali Nadvi in 1968 and later of Shah Moinuddin Nadvi in 1974, the responsibilities of the Academy fell on the shoulders of Syed Sabahuddin Abdur Rahman who managed it very efficiently during his time. After the death of Syed Shahabuddin Desnavi, Maulana Ziauddin lslahi became secretary (Nazim) of the Academy. From the very beginning Darul Musannefin has been doing pioneer work in the field of Islamic studies, medieval history and oriental languages and literature without any regular grant from the Government although it received some financial assistance now and then. After the partition demand of Urdu books declined and restrictions on export of books affected the Academy’s sale adversely. Some time back, I recounted a story of five sisters.Four of those sisters - young women at the time - emigrated from Europe. Helen has been suffering from Alzheimer’s syndrome for the past few years, and her daughter Margie - an only child - moved her from her home in Kansas City to a facility in Maryland for elderly people with cognitive issues. Neither of us had seen Helen in the past eleven years - not since she came to Fort Worth back in 1995 to watch SWMBO’s kid brother Morris William get hitched. Perhaps I was flashing back to that last time I saw Helen and Dorothy together.]This weekend we were in Columbia, Maryland to watch SWMBO’s other second cousins - Helen’s twin grandchildren Ryan and Rachel - step up to the Adulthood Plate. But - what the hell…” And John pulled out his cellphone and called up his mother, so that Helen could talk with her sister for what was probably the first time in many months. At first she did not recognize the voice on the other end of the line…but you could see her eyes light up when she realized who it was. From left: Elder Daughter, Margie, Aunt Helen, SWMBO, Momma d’SWMBO.After spending some 45 minutes there, SWMBO, Elder Daughter, and I left while SWMBO’s mom and Margie continued their visit. I thought of Helen as a young woman - Margie’s house is festooned with photographs that show Helen as a vivacious young strawberry blonde, nattily attired, looking as though she could’ve stepped directly from the pages of Vogue.

Array I’d gotten into the habit of either channel surfing on the radio (all the time) looking for a good station and no commercials, or listening to talk radio or sports talk radio. With my silver iPod mini (dressed in a stylish pink leather case, with new earphones), I have rediscovered how great music makes me feel! I also had a GREAT time seeing my old friends, and making new ones. If I told you how nice they all are, you just wouldn’t believe all those wonderful people were in one place!~~~~~~~~~~We had a great time at the Royals game Monday evening; the 4th of July fireworks were nice (Omaha’s fireworks last year were the best ever, though!!!) Too bad the Royals can’t manage to win very many, but hopefully next year.~~~~~~~~No news yet on my son’s tests. For the growth hormone tests, we were supposed to hear back TUESDAY, July 5th. I was impressed that someone called me back….well, not the dr with the results, but the secretary to tell me that someone would call me tomorrow.

Employees, who in turn, were able tobuy their own homes, raise their own families and give back to theircommunities and their country.WHAT I AM is a man who believes in God, a God who has blessed thiscountry and all for which it stands.WHAT I AM is someone who knows, if you doubt miracles exist in today’sworld, you need only to look into the face of those who received them, and the eyes of those who give them.WHAT I AM is an American who’s proud that his President embraces abelief in God; proud of a President who understands, as politicallyincorrect as it may be, there is evil in this world and for thesecurity and safety of all freedom loving people everywhere, it mustbe confronted and it must be defeated.WHAT I AM is an American who takes comfort in the knowledge that ourPresident refuses to allow decisions concerning the very safety andsecurity of this nation, to be governed by the political whims offoreign governments.WHAT I AM is tired of hearing from leading Democrats who see onlynegativity in America; racism in her people, class warfare in hersociety and political incorrectness in her character.WHAT I AM is a former democrat who now understands that it is thesoldier and not the reporter that guarantees us our freedoms of press, speech and dissent.WHAT I AM is a man who believes in the sanctity of life, a man who isrepulsed by the pandering of the political left for votes, at theexpense of the unborn.WHAT I AM is a husband and father who believes in the sanctity ofmarriage and the preservation of the family unit.WHAT I AM is a movie go-er who is repulsed by those insecure, sociallyinept, elementary thinking, ego-inflated entertainers who haveappointed themselves experts in the fields of national security andgeo-politics and then use their forum to attack this nation, itsleaders and its actions, much to the delight and encouragement of ourenemies.WHAT I AM is an American who understands the difference betweencensorship and choice. It is my right as an American a right I will continue toenthusiastically exercise.WHAT I AM is a voter, tired of politicians, who, every time theirvoting records are subjected to public scrutiny, try to divertattention from their political and legislative failures by accusingtheir opponents of attack ads and negative campaigning and thenews media who allow them to get away with it.WHAT I AM is a Catholic who loves his God and his Faith, and who’sbeen taught to respect all religions whose teachings are based inlove, peace and charity. A man who ischallenging the religious leaders of all faiths, to not only preach totheir congregations the fundamentals of whats right” and “whatswrong, but to also then hold them accountable for their actions inboth the public and private sectors.WHAT I AM is disgusted with the Courts who, on one hand, call themurder of a pregnant woman a double homicide but then refer to theabortion of her baby as, pro-choice.WHAT I AM is someone deeply troubled by a political party whichembraces a candidate whose primary leadership qualities centeraround his protesting of the Vietnam war and his labeling thehonorable men and women who fought in it, (50,000 of whom gave theirlives in that action), as rapists, and war criminals. Forthose interested, I am speaking only as a tax- paying individual whois in no way associated with The Republican National Committee, norwith any of its directors, or delegates.WHAT I AM is a man who understands, the American way of life is amessage of self-empowerment for all.WHAT I AM is an American who is grateful that our nation gives each ofus the opportunity of self-determination and the right to benefit fromthe fruits of self achievement.WHAT I AM is an American who wants to preserve that way of life forall who seek it.WHAT I AM is blessed to be an American and proud to be Republican.Dear Mr. ——–,This is not a full page ad to run in any newspaper or periodical. What I am is disgusted with the hypocracy of politics, willing to tar and feather a man for an affair, and unwilling to challange a man who gambled lives on a lie that he knew to be a lie. What I am is a woman embarrassed by a President that patently refuses to read, to be informed, or to hear opinions that differ from his own. We the people have to fight for our rights and the longer we roll over and allow them to be compromised, the sooner we will forget that we ever had the freedom or the right of privacy, when a court couldn’t look at our medical records or library cards using the excuse of fear to peddle invasion. What I am is a woman sicked with the thought that any man in Washington DC, or any man anywhere for that matter, believes that he has the right to have any opinion on what I do with my body. I wonder What I am is a woman that wonders what makes you think you have any right to make a law that determines my rights to my own body. I am disgusted with a man who is willing to send thousands to their deaths under the guise of spreading freedom while witholding those freedoms from the very people those deaths were to protect. What I am is a woman who believes that love is a gift that we all hope to recieve and that that gift does no harm to the sanctity of anything.

The weren’t mean but they just couldn’t be messed with, the jewel fish didn’t show that much color and was pretty timid until I put a big bell for it to go into. My Oscars were 3x the size of the jewel fish. The Jewel fish would wait until the Oscar passed by the bell and pop out and try to bite the gills of the Oscar. The Jewel fish was trying to kill the Oscar. When the Oscar got bit it went crazy and tried to eat the jewel fish but the jewel fish swam right into the bell and out of danger. Anytime the Jewel fish went after the little Oscar the big Oscar swam in between them to protect the little one. I suggest if you’re interested in setting up a fish tank that you buy cichlids, you won’t regret it.

Moving on we got off the plane and the very small airstrip in Kununurra and the heat and moisture in the air hit, however this was to be expected. By this stage Bec had found Slingair and they took us to their little shack where we waited for the dude to weigh our bags and pack it into the 4 seater. He gave us a quick talk about what to do in an emergency and how to get out of the aircraft. So we land at Oomby and just after us another plane lands bringing some supplies to the General Store. I also was about to belt myself in and Helen looked at me and just shook her head, I looked around and no one had their seat belts on so I figured that I had better not. Went around the settlement and met my teacher I’m teaching with Annette. So then Helen took us to our place and we got the guided tour from Rob. So we go around and it takes us about 20 mins to walk all the way around the settlement. to bring as it was on the truck up but everyone else had an alcoholic beverage and we sat around and talked. So we sat and ate and talked. So then we all pack up and talk a 10 sec walk back to this place where rob, bec and I sit around talking. Helen said that the last time she picked a tree half the size of the one out our back she got around 200 mangoes.

I don’t really like to drive, mostly because I like to look around, and I can’t look around as much when I’m the one responsible for the large object careening along at 70 mph. I couldn’t get around, and I was getting mad at whatever teeny bopper girl was not paying attention and driving below the speed limit. Finally, there was a break in the line of cars in the next lane, so I took advantage of it and moved around the bug.

Disclaimer- My observations are mere opinions based on my limited time here and are not intended to generalize about Peru and Peruvians. In Peru you can fit atleast 7 people into a taxi the size of a Geo Metro…normal3. When people put gas in their tanks they never fill them completely, only a dollar or two max.5. The concept of lines doesn´t really exist, people cut all the time and its not considered rude.6. It´s common to see people kissing in the parks (can´t do it in the house)7. Most people take taxis, walk, buses, or ride their bikes to work8. Most people don´t own cars only the rich people.9. There are people who live in parks and are paid to protect the parks from people from stealing plants and grass. Most people live with their family until they marry.19. It is common in some areas for people to mow their lawns with scissors or machete.20. Most people prefer room temp.28. Most people don´t wants to look indigenous look more European discent.45. It is very common to see little kids, some as young as 5, working in the streets washing cars, shoe shinning, and selling candy to support their family.55. Peruvians buy food at the market just to last a day or two unlike in the States we buy for a week or two.57. Peru (and Chile) has the dryest place on earth (Tacama dessert) the wettest places (Amazon Jungle) and the coldest places on the planet (Andes Mountains)63. If you get your cell phone stolen you may have the opportunity to buy it back from the theif for a cheaper price than buying a new one.65. It is very common to ride on a bus and have goats tied to the roof and sit next to someone carrying chickens or turkeys tied up in a sack placed on the floor next to your feet.71. There are people that live on floating reed islands that speak a different language than people living on the shore.74. People in the highlands walk many Kilometers every day.78. Most people wash clothes by hand. While owning a plot of land you have to be aware of people building on your land. People who own more than one house often hire people to live on the property and protect it while they aren´t the owners aren´t there.81. Peruvians often call people by how they look.
