… albums you enjoyed as a young ‘un are getting re-released. First Illmatic, then Whatever and Ever Amen and now, DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing…, quite possibly the most important turntablist album, ever.
From Billboard.com:Highlights include the Extended Overhaul edit of Organ Door which Shadow created for Mo’ Wax founder James Lavelle to use in his DJ sets, Cut Chemist’s Party Mix of The Number Song, Peshay’s previously unreleased remix of What Does Your Soul Look Like and demos or alternate versions of Building Steam With a Grain of Salt, Best Foot Forward, Changeling, Why Hip-Hop Sucks In 96,” “Mutual Slump” and “Napalm Brain.”

Shadow personally oversaw the update and contributed new liner notes and photos. The booklet will boast excerpts from Eliot Wilders upcoming book about Endtroducing…, which will be published in September by Continuum Books.I feel silly getting a new version of a CD I already own, but dammit, I guess I will have to.

Not that it’s not a genuine entry, but I’m imitating Lou Lou’s “100 Things About Me” post because, well, she suggested at the end of her post that anybody else should post their own 100 things, and so I am. I’ve gone to great lengths to think up 100 things about myself that you might not have learned by reading a previous post because I’m all about value. I know what you’re thinking: “What a treat!” And if you’re not, you should be.Here goes:1. In high school, I flunked freshman algebra, unaccountably aced college-level economics and accounting (but still cannot balance my own checkbook), was a cheerleader for exactly one week, proved to be arguably the worst player on the volleyball team ever, served as sophomore class president (to a class of about 10), wrote an award-winning paper on nuclear disarmament, and got into a heated argument with a literature professor over the poetry of John Donne.11. John Donne was a dandy-assed wuss and would have done the world a supreme favor had he just died of the smothering weight of love already (if not better yet of some nasty illness contracted from a flea bite) and not written another word about it.12. My best friend and I have a pair of matching tattoos: one near our right shoulder blades, the design of which was taken from a monument in Richmond outside of the church where Patrick Henry gave his give me liberty or give me death speech, and one on our upper backs in a design drawn by one of my brothers.13. My favorite sound is my son, Sam, singing to himself in the bathroom.24. My given first and middle names are Old French meaning “Advisor” and “Dark One.”28. I’m terribly nearsighted.53. I’m a little superstitious.62. If you make me laugh while I’m drinking something, it will spew out of my nose. I’m crazy about the way my son’s eyes squint when he smiles.82. I hate it when I’m out somewhere and realize that I forgot my earrings.92. I’m excellent at bedtime stories.94.
